Snow
It is early, and dark outside. Snow flakes float lightly by the bay window. Like a shower of sugar. When I woke, I went straight over to the window because the snow was expected overnight. Unusual for London. Everything was doused in powdery white – lawn and trees and car bonnets and roofs.
At this time, the snow on the pavement is unspoiled and perfect. Soon enough, foot prints will appear.
I noticed something so sweet at the window. Our neighbour left early for work and as she passed her husband’s car in the driveway she stenciled in the snow on the bonnet, “I love you.”
The scent of hot fresh coffee is coming from our kitchen. Michael treats me by always bringing me a freshly brewed black coffee each morning. It tastes amazing. He is such a blessing.

Hey Birgit, great blog! Your last paragraph brought tears to my eyes. I don’t really know why………..I guess it’s such a lovely simple thing, which is appreciated by you as an act of love, a gesture that could so easily be taken for granted, and I know how nice that early morning, freshly brewed, black coffee is! I guess God is like that too isn’t he? Everymorning He is there for us, with his love and mercies which are ‘new every morning’ (remember that song we sang at home group? “The steadfast love of the lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new evry morning, new every morning, great is thy faithfulness oh lord, great is thy faithfulness”) Anf if we can appreciate so much a morning cup of coffee, especially from our spouse then how much more can we EXPECT from God every morning?!?!? Mind blowing!! Thanks B, I needed to read this blog. I’ll be a regular reader. May God fill all the places that are empty within in you with his hope and love and power and authority. Love Sally
