Tenderness

… When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that the summer is near (Matthew 28:32).

I was going to call this post ‘the promise of summer’ because it seemed to fit with the photo and the verse, but this image reflects such tenderness to me. This was another image from Sunday.

Look at youth of it. The newness. Life uncoiling, unfolding before our eyes. There is a fragility to it, delicate in the morning light. There is tenderness here.

The God to whom the sun, the moon and the stars of light yield praise (Psalm 148), whose greatness is unsearchable (Psalm 145:3) is the same God who is infinitely tender. He is unsearchable. The beauty and mystery of who God is when you think about these different dimensions of His Personhood, is awesome.

The Bible says that His tender mercies are over all His works (Psalm 145:9). I see that here.

I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever … I will meditate on the glorious splendour of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works (Psalm 145:1;5).
