Meadow and Marzipan Cake

Last weekend Michael and I travelled to Kiel in the very north of Germany. It was a really special occasion - my Grandmother’s 95th birthday! It was such a blessing to be with her and my family, and in such a peaceful, beautiful harbour city.

You’re welcome to play the slideshow below which are some photos from the weekend – meadows, marizpan cake, spring blossoms, camembert and salami, and the sun at the harbour. Bless you.

  1. Hi Birgit, I wish I could have been there! Your pictures are so beautiful, reminding me of the lovely days I spent in Kiel with Oma. I am so glad you were with her on this special day.

  2. The picture of the row of trees nesxt to the road reminded me of some of the wisdom I heard over the long weekend..when the storm came, it unrooted the gigantic tree standing alone, but the storm couldn’t harm the group of smaller trees with thin trunks standing close together. The lesson learnt? Don’t try to survive the difficult times alone. Stay close to God, family and good friends.
