Pink Lilies
I bought these gorgeous crimson canna lilies at the weekend. They have bloomed into beautifulness and fill the room with this sweet, pink fragrance. I love them. They remind me of that passage I came across in the Katherine Mansfield story –
Things have been busy lately, and as so often happens when it’s busy, I have let my times with God slide. But over the last few days, I’ve made it a priority just to sit with Him for a while. Just with coffee, and my Bible. I have to admit the first day I did this it was a bit hard. I was amazed at how disconnected I felt from Him, even though, by faith, I knew He was where He always has been – with me.
I felt stagnant, dry and distracted that first day, but it’s got much better, and today I felt so kind of refreshed by Him. The presence of the Holy Spirit permeated the time, and I was reminded of the sweetness of abiding in Him. The life that He pours out inside us. So that’s what I am experiencing today – the sweetness, the peacefulness, the life that comes from abiding in Him.
As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love John 15:9
