| Make a slideshow – it’s easy! |
I have just got back from ten days in South Africa. It was an amazing opportunity to visit this country and to experience its very beautiful landscapes, coasts, vineyards and mountain ranges, as well as learn more about this country socially. It was an interesting and stunning place to visit.
A big highlight for me was our mini-safari at a game reserve north of Cape Town. If you watch the slideshow above, you’ll see some of whom we had close ups with J – lions and elephants and giraffes and rhinos. It was so amazing to get so close to these animals and pretty scary sometimes too. Our vehicle got charged by a rhino more than once – he came off worse I think, poor thing, but it was scary just the same. What really made me nervous was the elephants in the earlier part of the day – they literally chased us, and wouldn’t stop! J They are huge, beautiful, and amazingly strong creatures!

Hi! I know Chris & Ruth from when I lived in NZ. I now live in Johannesburg, South Africa with my son. Seeing your pictures makes me realise how lucky we are to live in a country like this! So diverse, so colouful, so amazing! Always missing the kiwi lifestyle and wonderful land of Aotearoa, but thrilled to be back in SA!

Hi ripplegirl, that’s so great you got to see it! It was so good getting so close to the animals. Yeah, being charged by the rhino was an amazing (and scary) experience. Their strength is amazing! I was actually more nervous of the elephants though, they were huge and also relentless in chasing after our vehicle – eek! They were very beautiful too, and seemed to be more calm later in the day :)
