Giving Him A Good Show
I’ve got this fun fridge magnet of Jesus standing over the world, watching over us. It says, “Jesus is watching. Give Him a good show.” Maybe it was meant to be kind of cheeky, but the funny thing is, it’s kind of true.
“From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from His dwelling-place He watches all who live on earth – He who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do” – Psalm 33:13-15.
How awesome is God that He sees each of one of us. That He considers each one of our actions. That He keeps up with us, and knows us so intimately.
Sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable to think about it because I don’t think I am giving Him a good show. Maybe I’m time-wasting, maybe I’m holding on to an attitude that is wrong. Lots of things.
Other times I feel in awe of this amazing God who loves me enough to be that interested. It gives me all the motivation I need to try and make Him smile with all that I do and say and think.
How does it make you feel to know that God is watching over you so intimately? For me, for today at least, I am going to try and give Him a good show :).
Amen sister! Me too! One of the things that really got me thinking recently, was as I’m engaged to be married soon (save the date Birgit and Mike!) and my fiance said to me ‘You realise when we are making love, that Jesus will be watching too… He created us and sex and everything to enjoy in the right way and He said it is good!’ HHmm.. food for thought, you married people… Yes, I’m gonna make Him proud of me today( I’ll leave the other stuff til I’m married, ha,ha!)! Ha, ha, that’s hilarious Laura :). Thanks so much for your comments. I have to say, I didn’t think of that, but there we go! He is always with us, isn’t He? And I know that He takes joy in our joy :).
We’re saving the date and can’t wait. Hope all the organising is going well. It’s fun, huh?
The fridge magnet – in any of those design type stores that stock novelty items like JOY. I got mine in Putney at a shop called Huttons.
