Grace at Work

imageMy world has been no bigger than four walls today.

Beyond the window, the sky is low and thick and white.

There is a roar of a plane as it descends through the clouds into London, and somewhere far off a car sounds its horn. Otherwise it’s silent.

Perfect for an imaginary world, and imaginary people.

I am trying to write a synopsis for the story I am planning. I have read that it can be one of the more difficult parts of the process. I am casting my mind forward, trying to get a sense of how things might unfold, unexpected situations, how characters might change. I can see how a clearer picture of how things evolve will help so much when it comes to the writing.

But it’s not the easiest. I got to a point where everything went stale, and I had to walk away for a while.

Can I do this? I kept thinking.

Then, God’s whisper. God’s encouragement.

Grace.

Grace.

Grace, I give you, and My grace is sufficient for you. For My strength is made perfect in your weakness.

I am learning to lift my eyes to Him in everything; in every part of this process. I am convinced of His grace and how He enables us.

How has God’s grace made a difference for you? How have you experienced God’s grace today in a big or small way?

  1. Can it be attributed to God’s grace that my kids are on mid-year vacation from their schooling? Aahh, the sweet sounds of kids happily playing in their pajamas. I know that this is the grace of God.

And…I know you can do it Birgit. God is right.

  2. That really is His grace and His favour. It sounds so lovely to have your family all around for mid-year vacation :)

Thanks for your encouragement @ngie, I’m learning lots about God through the process. God bless.

  3. hey sweets! I love to sit and think about Grace…you know when I try to wrap my head around it..we are swimming in an ocean of Grace. Everything I do and everything I come into contact with, everything that makes my heart sing, and every victory…all Grace! HIS grace is sufficient for me…learning to lean into HIM and experience HIS grace.

BTW- hopefully I will get a new post up tonight..love visiting you! I am going to add you to my blog roll! Okay?

  4. I wonder if God’s grace was shown to me this week when I ran out in front of a bus in a moment of distress and somehow the bus did not hit me. What was interesting is there was no screetch of brakes, honking of horn or yelling. Perhaps God was driving that bus.

  5. Hi Darla, I love what you said about swimming in an ocean of His grace, it’s so true, it’s like that verse in the Bible says, we can do nothing apart from Him. As you say, it’s just learning to lean into His grace more :).
I’m really looking forward to reading your next post, and thank you so much for adding me to your blogroll, that’s so great :)

Hi Laree, wow, that is so good that you were safe from any harm. I love the different ways that God’s grace comes to us, like here, where He looked after you :)
