A story about God’s goodness

image We met friends for breakfast yesterday, and I heard a story about God that made me smile because it showed me once again how much He cares about us. How much He is in the details and loves to bless us. My friend, S, kindly gave me the go-ahead to tell :).

We have a big once-a-year conference coming up at our church in a couple of months. S had never been to this conference before but felt this year that God was leading her to go. That it was really important for her to be there.

This would mean days off work, time out during a very busy time for her, and also the cost of the tickets which would be a stretch for the budget.

She sat with this sense from God, seeking Him about how it would be possible for her to go.

This past week, God answered.

S met up with another friend for coffee. They had never spoken about the conference before and this friend had no idea about God’s urge for S to be there. As they were chatting, the friend said, “I have something to give you, and there is a bit of a story to it.”

“OK” S said.

“I had this dream. In it, I was holding tickets to the conference at church coming up. I walked in to the church building and you were there, sitting at the back. In the dream I felt that I had to give the tickets to you. When I woke, God revealed the dream was from Him and that He wanted me to gift you the tickets to this conference, and that it was your time to go. So, here you are …”

And she handed S the tickets!

How amazing is our God!

He speaks to us. He places desires in our hearts, and then He makes those desires possible. He provides in ways that we could never imagine, in circumstances that seem impossible. He is so good.

How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You Psalm 31:19
