Sitting in the Sun
Isn’t this bench in the sun beautiful? I recently went to a friend’s wedding at a Christian retreat. We stayed over in the guest house there, and early the next morning I was able to go out with my camera and take some photos. The light was exquisite at that time. The morning was so quiet, and the sun was pale. Imagine sitting on this bench with a coffee in the still morning and in the muted early light, just connecting with God. So beautiful. I love the verse too, in the New King James,
I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth Psalm 121:1-2.
I’ve been a bit busy these past few days but look forward to writing more again soon, God bless.

Beautiful and thought provoking as usual.
That whole Psalm is simply magnificent. Beautiful angle on this bench, too.
Thanks for your lovely encouragement Hope.

Isn’t it beautiful @ngie, I love it too, I love the reminder in this verse to lift our focus to Him :)
Love this! the pic the verse…all of it! I think this verse often when I am troubled, and it always gives the focus…Where do I run to..I run to you LORD! love you Birgit, hope things are going well for you! ♥
Lifting up my eyes to Him for help.
Great reminder. I tend to look at the circumstances too long and allow the fear to build up; I need to “lift up mine eyes.”
I hope all is well with you. Love and blessings!
Love that the verse is carved in wood, so significant, so humbling.
You have a beautiful soul!
God Bless dear Birgit.
what a gorgeous photo!
Hi Darla, yeah the verse really does help us to re-focus, just hearing the words “lift up my eyes” brings hope I find. Love you Darla, yeah, I am OK thanks. A bit of a weird time recently, but OK thanks :)

Hi alece, thanks so much. Have been meaning to drop by and leave a comment, will do soon :).
Thank you for the reminder, Birgit. Yes, it happens with me all the time. Being so enthusiastic and motivated at the start, then things start to dwindle… then I’d start once again!
Argh!
Have a good day!
Hi brainteaser, great to see you, hope you’re well. Yeah, I know what you mean about motivation in the other post – I love being able to start over! Have a good weekend :)
Whoa!
I think I put my comment on the wrong page!
Sorry! Glad you figured out where it was supposed to be.
That is one of my favorite verses. A reminder that God is the only one who is able to deliver us from our afflictions and give us strength during them. The bench is very kewel. Hope all is well with you. Lots of love!
What a beautiful picture, both in terms of the photo and in terms of the words you have written. I love your blog Birgit, and although so far I’ve only managed to visit irregularly, each time I go away unlifted and encouraged. Thank you for sharing your kindness with others, and for uplifting us all. We all have those moments where we feel as though we are lacking in our zeal for Him, but that is part of our human frailty, and those are the very times when He will be there to lift us up. In Him, Denise
That’s OK brainteaser, I just really enjoyed hearing your thoughts, and thanks for your lovely comment about the lilies too, God bless :)

Hi Denise, It’s lovely to see you and thanks so much for stopping by. Thanks too for your kind words and thoughts here. I love that God so perfectly understands us, and knows our weakness and frailty, and as you say, that in those times, He Himself lifts us. God bless.
