Halloween – TV Interview

Good news!! Michael and I were finally able to upload the interview this morning – I just wanted to say a big thank you to Michael who is amazing, and worked really hard to do this – thank you!!

In case you didn’t see yesterday’s post, this is an interview I gave on Revelation TV about my testimony. It’s about my past involvement in the occult, the effects this has had on my life, and my conversion experience where God supernaturally intervened and revealed Himself to me. If you would like to know more about my reasons for posting this today, on Halloween, please do take a look at yesterday’s post here.

Just a bit of background about the video, firstly, there are glitches in parts, where it jumps a bit and some words are lost. One of these jumbles is right at the beginning when I begin to talk – eek. For this reason, I’ve transcribed what I said there (and in one or two other places) in the post just below this, just so that it makes those bits easier to understand.

I also cry a little in one part of this interview. It’s at the stage where I explain what has God has done in my life. I don’t know if anyone else gets this, but sometimes I get quite overwhelmed when I think about it, and overwhelmed by Him. I truly love Him and am so thankful to Him. He is so good.

One other point that may lessen any confusion is that I used  to work full time at Revelation TV, and currently I continue as part of the team as a guest presenter and the lovely interviewer is my friend, Sally. The Revelation TV phone number and email address that appear at the very end have changed now.

If you’re able to watch it, may God’s power and goodness bless you, and may His love draw you.

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly, John 10:10

  1. What a testimony! The necklace analogy is very powerful – the Lord prevailed! Hallelujah! Birgit, He really has transformed your life in such a dramatic and wonderful way. How brave of you to share such inner feelings, emotions and experiences. I’m sure that wherever you go, and whatever you do henceforth, you will be a blessing to others. God bless you and protect you always, Denise

  2. Wow, Birgit, thanks for sharing that with us. I love how God was with you even in all you went through. I was hoping I would be able to say your name by the end of it, but I still can’t figure out how. :)

  3. Hi Denise, lovely to hear from you, the two necklaces really did symbolise what was going on spiritually over those months, and I am so thankful that God revealed Himself to me, and drew me out. Thanks for your kind words, God bless.

Ha, ha Tawny, yes, I think there were a few different pronounciations by us both in the video, my name is said – Birg (as in ‘ice berg’) – it (as in ‘it is a nice day) – Birg-it :) Hope that helps :), God bless.

  4. Amazing Birgit, even though I was there, it was a fresh reminder of how easy it is to fall into darkness. I love your honesty. Can’t wait to catch up soon-hopefully at Christmas. love Sal

  5. ohhh Birgit!!! I was so touched by this. I just had tears rolling almost the whole time because I too know this Jesus and I know the feeling of being in darkness & then in Light. Not in an extreme case like you — but being in darkness and being a prisoner of myself, of others.

Cults (occults?) are practiced so much in America – more than we realize and it’s mostly in college/teen years that people turn to those practices, I have many friends that looked into that road…. I just thank God so much for your beautiful testimony & for saving you. Sometimes we take for granted so much the Light we have — I just pray for God to continue to remind me how REAL this battle is! People are looking, people are hurting and because we are not reaching – they are looking in wrong directions. Sally & you both were right – that we are just looking to belong, to fit in, be accepted, have answers — and if The Church doesn’t reach – the devil will have room to get into people’s lives!

Thanks so much for this today. It has impacted me. love ya sister!

  6. Oh wow Birgit. I am speechless. It was nice to hear your voice and see you again, I miss you :) I know it couldn’t have been easy to share your history, the devil often holds us back from sharing where we’ve come from by making us feel guilty or ashamed of our past, but praise God that you know that there is now therefore no condemnation in Christ, and that your testimony, your witness, is a way to reach masses of people to know the real God; the delivering God, the healing God, the saving God. I love you.

  7. Thank you for sharing your story, Birg. It is exactly as Hosea says — it is from lack of knowledge. We tend to believe nothing will affect us, when He has told us exactly what the boundaries are. If we would only humble ourselves and learn, submit to His authority. I speak from a place of ignorance at the time and getting caught up in similar activities. I was amazed when I read, in later years, how very wrong — an abomination — God calls such activity. I had no clue, and yet the anxiety and fear had become paralyzing. Once I repented of the sin, He brought me back to a place of peace in Him. And the verse you mentioned, “He has not given us a spirit of fear; but power, and love, and a sound mind,” was the one my pastor gave me after praying for deliverance. He told me to memorize it and appropriate the truth of it, when and if anxiety ever set in again. I still do go to that verse often.

I love you, Birg. I love your transparency and willingness to speak God’s truth boldly. Thank you for this…now to get my kids to watch it!

  8. Thank you Birgit..now I just want to hug your neck! Thanking God for sparing you. I remember those same kind of things as a child..and Hosea is my favorite book! Love you Princess!

  9. Birg, I have heard you mention your past involvement in the occult but this is the first time I have seen you present your testimony. It is a powerful witness to our God who is sovereign and who alone has power and victory over all the powers of darkness. You articulate your testimony so well and, more importantly, the Holy Spirit bears witness through you to the power and love of God. I finished watching it a while ago and had to take time to praise Him before I could get back to you or do anything else. He truly sets the captives free! Lots of love to you.

  10. Hi Sal, you’re right, it was so easy to fall into it just with no awareness of the spiritual reality and of God’s instruction to us to keep away. It’s so good to have the opportunity to communicate that through testimony. So looking forward to seeing you soon and catching up :), lots of love ox

Randi, your compassionate heart and love for Jesus are beautiful. You make such a good point about there being a spiritual hunger around us, and a need to feel belonging and to find answers. As you say it is such a reminder to us as the Church to reach out and provide that love and acceptance, and to pray that God would provide those answers. Thanks so much for your thoughts, love to you.

Love you G, and love the way you described God – “the delivering God, the healing God, the saving God.” That is so true of Who He is and of my experience. Yeah, it’s not the easiest to be open with all of this, I think it’s the vulnerability involved, but at the end of the day, it’s more important that God and His great love for us, and His reality, is spoken about. I love that about your testimony too. Lots of love to you.

Michelle, I relate to what you’ve said here in so many ways – the part about having “no clue” about God’s thoughts on what I was involved in and the boundaries He gives us for preservation and for peace. It reminds me to go much deeper with reading the Bible so that I can bring more of my life and thinking etc before Him. I am so thankful that He finds ways to reach us and to reveal Himself, and that He is full of grace, compassion and power. Love you Michelle, and am so blessed by your devotion to God.

darla, you always bring such brightness and encouragement, love you too :)

Dear Carol, Thank you so much for this. The way you describe God is so true – “our God who is sovereign and who alone has power and victory over all the powers of darkness.” He truly does. He loves each of us so much and is able to show His great power as we call upon Him. I am so thankful He revealed Himself to me in a full way, and did not leave me. Thanks for your consistent love and prayers, Carol, lots of love.

  11. That explains a lot…… You weren’t weird around me though….. One of the highlights of my teenage years was our coffees and chats in town…… Great testimony though! Looking back I can remember times when you weren’t comfortable around people, but I’m glad you “saw the light”, so to speak :-)

Anyway, we can hug it out at Christmas……BTW you got a God Bless from Arabella and Jasmine tonight….. Gabriel’s sick at the moment but I’m sure he would have sent one too. Noah just smiled :-)

Your website is always uplifting…….I look forward to your next post…..

    Love Chris

  12. I love you so much Chris, you are such an awesome brother and one of my best friends. “We can hug it out at Christmas” ha, ha, ha, ha :)
Yeah, the coffees and chats were and are a highlight for me too.
Big cuddles to the children, I love those dear little souls and I love prayer time at your house (please say thank you to Jasmine and Bella, and I hope Gabriel feels better soon, kisses to baby Noah). Thanks for your kind words, Chris, love Birg.

  13. Such a beautiful testimony, thank you so much for sharing…

  16. i finally got to watch this! thank you for sharing your heart, your story, with us. i love seeing God’s redemption and grace right before my eyes!

and your accent!? i could listen to you all day!

  17. Birgit I am mostly impressed with the laid back matter of fact way that you shared your story. You were not defensive nor overly showy to convince people. You simply shared from your own experience. The authenticity is calming and good.

Thank you and thanks to Michael for getting this up – I know videos can be tricky for so many reasons.

  18. I AM SO GLAD GOD WON!!!
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT!!!
    Roxanne

  19. That’s so great you got to see it, I love the way you put that “God’s redemption and grace.” His love and power in our lives is amazing. Yay! You like our accent and our rugby team, that’s great, hee, hee ;)

I love hearing your thoughts @ngie. Yeah, Michael stayed up late with me figuring out the video side of things, and was such a huge help!
Thank you so much for what you said about your impressions as you watched it. Do you share your testimony, written or video, on any of your sites?

Ha, ha, ha Roxx! “SO GLAD GOD WON!” Love that :) Thank you so much for your really kind words. God bless!

  20. Birgles, I have just loved hearing your testimony – you have reminded me what an incredibly powerful tool testimony’s are – it does so much for one’s faith to hear of God’s miracles and you are certainly one of them :-) God Bless you – I can’t wait to have a face to face chat with you again xxx Love Em

  21. Hi Em, so lovely to hear from you, miss you and looking forward to catching up soon :) It’s really true what you say testimony. Your comment here reminded me of that verse in Revelation that says “And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (12:11). It is so good to be able to speak about the transforming work of God in each of our lives :). Lots of love to you, speak soon xo

  22. To answer your question, Birgit, the path of my story can be found here on our web site: http://www.christnationministries.org/English/bios.html

My testimony is simple: at the age of eight I gave my life to the Lord. It was at a Derek Prince meeting in a store front church. I knew for certain that Christ had saved me. Shortly thereafter I was baptized in water with the pastor of my church. Then shortly after that at a Willy George kids meeting I was filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. It was also at this crucial time that I felt the call to full time missionary work. This was all before I was ten years old. But the most powerful and wonderful part of the whole testimony is: God kept me. I never turned away and have stayed strong with him for just over 23 years now. Glory to Him!
