Searching

If you have a blog, then you will most likely be familiar with ‘search terms.’

This is a page which shows a blogger all the different words and phrases that people have searched, which has led them to your blog.

All sorts of terms come up, but the ones that really get me are from those that seem to be hurting or seeking in some way. Words like ‘hopelessness’ or ‘feeling rejected’ or ‘far from God.’

As Christ’s Body here on earth, as His hands and feet, it reminds me of the need that there is around us. People carrying pain or questions beneath the surface. That Jesus has sent us out as ministers of reconciliation 2 Cor. 5:18, as ministers of His grace and good news.

If you do feel like you’ve lost hope or rejected by people, or if you do feel far away from God, like there’s no coming back even, I just wanted to offer some encouragement. Words that are really comforting and give hope from the Bible.

God is near, at the door to your heart Rev.3:20. And He is full of grace and compassion Ps.86:15,

When no one else sees, He does. He knows your lying down and your rising up Ps.139:2,3. He knows what you are facing right now. And He places every tear in His bottle Ps. 56:8.

He is a very present help in times of trouble Ps.46:1.

As hopeless or broken as things may seem, God is able to work it together for good Rom.8:28; to give beauty for our ashes, and a garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness Is.61:3.

In spite of how things may be at the moment, God’s plan for you is good, to give you a future and a hope Jer.29:11.

Jesus did not come to condemn John 3:17, and nothing can separate us from His love Rom.8:39. You are loved immeasurably by God with a love that passes understanding Eph.3:19.

As dry, exhausted or defeated as you may be feeling, He longs to lead you beside quiet waters, and to restore your soul Ps.23:2,3.

  1. Good words.

  2. when others fail us and turn aside..when our deepest needs by them are denied…He is there..

when troubles come and the heart is weak..listen closely and hear Him speak He is there

when the way ahead looks bleak at best and it seems each step is quite the test..He is there

when you feel like quitting and turning around..stay in prayer and stand your ground He is there

when the toil of life has left much pain ..look ahead to all you have to gain…He is there

when the darkness of the shadows fall…and His presence isn’t felt at all…He is there

when you think you can’t take anymore …and your spirit’s battered, bruised and sore…He is there

and when this life ends..and the troubles flee..for the ones who trust Him and believe…He is there..

  7. Hi Birgit, spot on. God loves everyone and wants nobody to perish. And He also tells us what we need to do if He seems far away. “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.”(James) “Seek and you will find.”(Jesus) God is not playing hide and seek but will be found by whomever is searching for Him. And the best places to find him are in the bible, in dedicated Christian churches, in prayer and in Christian fellowship.

  8. Hi Gerrit, thanks so much for stopping by, and for your encouraging words and ways that we might practically draw close to Him – through His Word, in prayer and in fellowship with other Christians, so true I have found, thank you, and God bless!
