Grace at work
I find it so easy to run into the day ahead of God.
Not taking the time to come before His throne of grace Heb 4:16; led by Him to the waters of rest Ps 23:2, before the strains of the day set in.
And He graciously reminded me of this yesterday.
It was a gruelling day of work. Fourteen hours in the same chair, by the same window, staring at the same computer screen. Caught in the details. Progress slow. By the end I felt frustrated, bleary eyed and woolly.
Michael, the dear one, dutifully brought me cups of tea and chocolate, which I have to say helped a lot, but what really helped was time with God. Being reminded that we don’t go into our work alone, but that He is present there too, and the power of His grace, available to us. He is the well we draw from, and there is plentiful supply.
I’ve been resting with a few scriptures to help me settle in this perspective.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” 2 Cor 12:9
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit” says the Lord of hosts Zech 4:6.
“Apart from Me you can do nothing” John 15:5.
He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man Ps 147: 10.
And
My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever Ps 73:26.
Wow, His Word is truly like food I find. I have felt so much more peaceful soaking in this knowledge again. That it’s His strength we walk in, in the work he has given us.
It is early as I write this. The sky is full of the palest of blue, and the day, of promise. As I walk ahead into it, my prayer is it will be in this new perspective and in His grace.

Dear Lady, not only is He there to help us BUT He in fact wants us to let Him do it through us!
It is such a simple straight forwrd teaching and so ful of Grace and Love, yet we miss it so often.
If you can get your hands on a book called Lifetime Guarantee by Bill Gillham, do so, it is a truly wonderful book and set us so free.
Lots of love in Christ!
