Bouquet
Something lovely happened this week.
One of my favourite things.
I am at home at lunchtime, and I get this call on my mobile. It’s a flower guy, and he is downstairs at my front door.
A delivery of flowers.
I love deliveries of flowers.
‘Flowers?’ I ask, ‘who from?’ my mind racing. There was no special occasion I could think of. ‘Never mind,’ I say, ‘I’ll just come down.’
And there, at the door, is the hugest, most beautiful bouquet of flowers, ever. I’m no good at naming flowers, but there were lots of gorgeous white and pink roses amongst them.
I ran up the stairs, and pulled the little gold card from amongst the stems. They were from my best friend for looking after her little boy at the weekend.
Rocco is 21 months, and I spent Saturday with him, playing trucks, going to the park, and watching Iggle something on TV. It was so fun! But this truly was the icing! It made my week, and every time I look at them now, it brings a big smile to my face. Here’s a picture of them above.

A couple friends and I went out for Chinese on Wednesday. It was fun to chat for a bit.

Last week my hubs sent brought home a bouquet of sunflowers. WOW. They totally lit up the corner of my room and I was able to draw a few before they wilted. LOVE FLOWERS! I just bought too many to plant — I sure hope my hubs is up for some gardening this year!

I love little surprises like this. Every once in awhile, Roxx sends me flowers. Other than that, I rarely get them. I really blew it because my husband used to get them for me regularly until I told him to save money and not do that anymore. How stupid was that? Oh well, now I buy them for myself occasionally. We did just have a conversation about how when I lived in Germany, almost any time someone came over, they brought fresh flowers, so it prompted me to start doing the same when I go to someone’s house. It’s amazing how cheap you can get a small bouquet and it just brightens their day.
