Beautiful Day

It’s my birthday this month, and I had the most beautiful day! I’ve put together a few photos of the dear friends I spent the day with, and some of the lovely things I saw! It had been pretty yuck weather-wise where I live, so a few days before I asked God if He would give me sunshine for the day (:)), and against all the odds, He did! As if gift-wrapped from Him. He is so good! The way He blesses us in a hundred different ways every day!
So at the beginning there are photos of the sky at dawn. So clear and beautiful. Michael and I had had a special pre-dawn breakfast of coffee and yummy pastries and then I spent some time with God, looking out at the glorious morning sky, and I felt His smile, so lovely.
I met a dear friend at a cafe after that, but I forgot to take any photos because we were busy talking (sorry Morgs!). Then there are photos from the train ride out to the coast. I so miss the seaside in London, so it was beautiful to be able to be by the water on this special day. I spent the time with really lovely friends and enjoyed seeing the renovation they’re doing on their new home. There was this wallpaper they discovered when they stripped the walls back, and I thought it made such a lovely photo. You’ll see in the slideshow. You’ll also see inside their great little Nissan Figaro, love it, which we drove to a cafe by the sea for lunch!
There are photos from the train back to London, as the sun hung low in the sky, and then, such a fabulous restaurant for dinner, I was so happy. I spent ages trying to find somewhere, and this restaurant was just perfect! I love details, and interiors, and fabrics, and textures, and candles and art, and this place had me in my element. You’ll hopefully get a sense of it in the pictures. The design and the creativity was so inspiring. It was almost like being inside a theatre. So beautiful. And such dear friends to spend the evening with.
At the very end I was so surprised! We had all finished our meals, and the lovely waitress came to our table with a special treat, also in the photos, just to put the icing on the most beautiful day :) I hope you enjoy the photos, lots of blessings to you.

Happy Birthday Birgit:) It seems like such a lovely day! Awesome that you were able to go to the coast! Which beach did you go to? Love & blessings:)
Thanks so much, Rain :) It was so lovely by the sea! I didn’t actually go to the beach, but sat beside the sea at a couple of lovely cafes :) It was out on the East Coast, not far from Hastings. Did you used to go out to the coast when you lived in the UK? Lots of love to you, hope you’re having a good weekend xo
Isn’t funny how you left your actual birth DATE out of this post? Well, I’ll respect that and wish you a year filled with blessings unimaginable, a year filled with an intimacy with our Lord that is beyond anything you’ve dreamed of, and a year in which one of your dreams – the one which seems to you least likely to be fulfilled – would be fulfilled and then some. Happy Birthday, Birgit.
What gorgeous pictures! You’re lucky you can take the train to the coast, for us it’s a 17 hours car ride…
What an amazing birthday blessing, Hope. This is really so lovely to receive. And yes, there is a hope or a dream which seems so far off and seems so impossible, so after your blessing here, I’m believing God for it! Thank you, and love to you.
P.S. Yes, no birth date or mention of age, ha, ha ;)

Wow, Susanne, seventeen hours to the coast? It must be really special when you get to vacation near the sea as you did recently. It makes me think of home in NZ when the beach was only five minutes away, and such a lovely part of after-school in the summer :)
I can confirm that the restaurant suits Birgit perfectly – it was a beautiful evening with my dear friend – looking forward to the next one – 21 !
Ha, ha, ha Des :) But what’s with this letting the cat of the bag with my age ;) Love you xoxo
Happy Belated Birthday!!
About this age issue…come now. I’m almost 50!!! You can come clean with us…
Love you xo
Thanks so much Michelle! :)
OK, I’ll admit it, my 21st has been and gone ;)
Your day looked full of happy things, good people and beauty. So wonderful! The venue you chose for your birthday dinner did look creative. The picture of the lamp and the brassiere made me chuckle. Congratulations on another year. May God pour out His goodness on you in the year to come.
Hi @ngie, so lovely to see you after your vacation away :) Yes, it really was such a great day, and as you’ve mentioned, full of happy things and lovely people.
Ha, ha, yeah I like that picture too – all those candles make it look so theatrical, I love it!
Thanks so much for your blessing too. Love to you xo
