Close

Who is he who will devote himself to be close to Me? Jeremiah 30:21

image This verse lodged itself in my heart when I came across it today.

As if God is searching the earth for one who will hunger after Him.

One who will make the choice to draw close (James 4:8).

And what a thought – closeness with God.

That as we dedicate ourselves to Him, give ourselves over to Him, seek after Him, that we would enter into a closeness with Him. Intimately knowing Him. His voice. His will. Communion with Him. Experiencing the fullness of Him, and the outworking of His Kingdom through our lives.

Who is he who will devote himself to be close to Me? He asks us …

Lord God, search our hearts, pour out Your grace, and draw us to a place of intimacy and fullness in You, in Jesus’ Name.

  2. “To fall in love with God
    is the greatest of all romances;
    to seek Him,
    the greatest adventure;
    to find him,
    the greatest human achievement.”

  3. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

    I love this verse in Jeremiah. Even when I’m not living perfectly, He still wants me to draw near. Yes, I will desire to repent the closer I move toward Him…it’s just the way it is. And He will not refuse me…even while we were yet sinners, He died for us.

    Thank you, Birg. Good food to chew on…

  4. Dear Laree, Rosalind and Michelle, thank you so much for your wonderful comments here, these have been a blessing to read, I’ll be back to write more of a reply, but I just wanted to thank you in the meantime, love Birgit.

  5. Hi Laree, I really relate to this. Like you, when I know God is prompting me to go in a particular direction, and I follow, I’ve found a really special sense of His presence and a closeness that comes with that obedience.
    I hope you’re well, lots of blessings to you xo

    Hi Michelle! :) I love that verse about drawing near to Him, and Him drawing near to us. It’s so true what you say that as His grace and His love draws us, and we fall more in love with Him, there is the desire that comes with this to repent and turn away from all the things that seem to get in the way of that closeness with Him. And how amazing that He never, ever refuses us, as you say.
    I hope you’re well! I’m so looking forward to catching up on your blog soon. Lots of love xo
