Psalm 144:12

Psalm 144~12

This photo was taken by the Royal Palace in Prague on our visit there a few months ago. I thought these statues were so beautiful and so full of grace and poise and stature. Even the flow of the garments seem graceful. When I saw it it brought to mind Psalm 144:12, where David says “May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace.”

  1. I love what you did with the photo Birgit, it’s beautiful and matches so well with the scripture. Hope you’re well friend, God bless!

  2. Wow, Birgit. That is stunning! I had never taken note of that scripture before. You illustrate it here with such exactitude and beauty that I don’t think I will forget now.

  3. Hi Rain, that’s so lovely you liked the picture. When I saw these beautiful statues, and their position so close to the palace, it so reminded me of this verse :)
I’m really well thanks, and will be emailing you soon, hope you are well too ox

Hi @ngie, aren’t the statues so lovely? It’s one thing that really made an impression on me in our time in Prague, the number and the beauty of the statues throughout the city.
I first heard of this verse when one of our pastors mentioned it in a talk, and I thought it was a beautiful image :)

  4. I love this. That has been my prayer for my girl. And she is quickly growing into a beauty…inside and out. I hope we make it through the next few years without too many sorrows. She has a tender heart and a love for God. She’s truly an amazing woman.

Beautiful picture, Birg. It always amazes me how sculptors are capable of turning rock into gracefully flowing lines.

  5. Hi Michelle, it’s so lovely what you say here about your daughter, the amazing person she is, and what a blessing she is to you. What a gift :)

I know what you mean about the amazing way that sculptors transform the stone. The lines and edges are so smooth and flowing as you say – it must take such skill and hard work – with such a beauitful result! :)
